Austin, TX (November 21, 2011) – Yaskawa Motoman Robotics demonstrated their high speed assembly robot, MH5, under RLX control at the 2011 Rockwell Automation Fair. This demonstration showed the robot using a Cognex camera to locate a part and then execute motions to pick the part and place it on a conveyor. The robot motion planning and control was all done on Control Logix using the RLX software and RLX-CPU (MLX100 Robot Gateway) add on. Cognex vision was integrated into the application program using an Ethernet/IP connection between the Cognex smart camera and Control Logix.
